Zeppolì Brand Identity by onlab Turns a Ready to Cook Fritter Into a Pop Freezer Aisle Standout

The Zeppolì brand identity project was developed with the aim of transforming a simple ready-to-cook fritter into a recognizable product brand, capable of coexisting in a distinctive way within the Bontàrtica brand universe.

The starting point was the sensory experience of the product itself: a savory, intense, almost explosive bite, designed to immediately trigger a convivial and informal moment. The idea was to translate that instant reaction, the one that happens when something good lands in the middle of the table and disappears in a few minutes, into a clear and memorable brand language.

From this insight, an identity system was developed that works on two levels. On one side, the presence of the parent brand Bontàrtica, which ensures continuity, trust, and recognition. On the other, the creation of a distinct product identity, younger, more dynamic and playful, capable of standing out on its own while still belonging to the same brand family.

The name Zeppolì introduces a sonic and pop dimension, evoking the spontaneous gesture of street food and the idea of a snack that literally bursts with flavor.
The custom-designed logotype draws inspiration from the irregular shapes of the fritter’s crispy surface, translating its roundness and texture into a distinctive visual sign.

The visual system combines energetic colors, expressive typography and bold graphic elements designed to make the product immediately readable on shelf and easily recognizable in digital environments.

The result is a product identity that remains connected to the Bontàrtica brand while introducing its own voice: more dynamic, convivial and contemporary, turning a freezer product into a small ritual of sharing, ready in just a few minutes.
