Designing a brand identity is always a rewarding challenge, especially when it connects the past with the future. This was the case when I worked on the identity for Scarab Dev, a tech company based in Dubai and Egypt, offering digital solutions across the Gulf region.

The name “Scarab Dev” is rich in meaning. “Scarab” refers to the ancient Egyptian symbol of transformation and resilience, while “Dev” highlights the company’s mission to build the future with technology. The name blends ancient culture with modern innovation.

The logo reflects this fusion. The scarab shape is simplified for a contemporary feel while keeping its cultural significance. I incorporated digital elements like brackets, symbols, and the number zero, which originated in ancient Egypt and laid the groundwork for the binary system that powers today’s technology.

Drawing inspiration from Egyptian hieroglyphs, the design combines these ancient forms with modern aesthetics, creating a clean, tech-forward identity.

The color palette merges warm, earthy tones inspired by ancient Egyptian art with cool shades representing innovation. The typography uses a minimalist sans-serif font, with geometric shapes that echo the past while embracing modern simplicity.
