Cacau Crioula – A Brazilian Brownery with noble cocoa

Cacau Crioula is an artisanal brownie brand that works with premium 70% criollo cacao and values the true flavor of its ingredients in every recipe, blending authenticity with a diverse brownie menu.

The brand needed to express its diversity and appreciation for Brazilian roots while still feeling playful and dynamic. For this reason, we focused on graphic compositions with illustrative overlays and multiple elements that reinforce flavor and a sense of movement.

Unlike what is expected from many ‘browneries’, Cacau Crioula seeks to express, through its brand and communication, a deep reverence for the intense flavor of cocoa. Our flavor compositions highlight natural ingredients that reinforce the high quality of our brownies. Cacau Crioulo is a noble cacao, born from Brazilian soil, as intense as the roots of the Brazilian people.

The brand distances itself from the traditional interpretation of overly sugary sweets, focusing instead on evoking the original Brazilian flavor.
The brand’s construction stems from the actual volumetry of the cacao fruit; its ridges and textures are referenced in the letterforms of the word ‘Cacau.’ Meanwhile, ‘Crioula’—which evokes the most noble aspect of the product—carries a more refined and luxurious expressiveness.

Within the composition, the use of colors based on the brownie-making process positions the brand as a truly artisanal project. Cacao is prominently featured as a graphic element—through leaves, cocoa powder, and chocolate splatters—which also serve as the primary inspiration for the graphic project’s color palette.
