Wild Nuts Student Packaging Design Concept by Ekaterina Torokhova

The Wild Nuts is a Russian brand of nut products that preserves the naturalness and usefulness of nuts. The concept of “nuts like from the wild” emphasizes that our products are minimally processed and retain the vitamins, trace elements, and nutrients that are so rich in the product.

The modern market offers the buyer a large selection of nut products, so our main task is to highlight the product on the shelf. It is necessary to show it from an unusual side, using a minimum of funds. This decision was the idea of ​​”wild nuts”.

The idea plays on the possibilities of flexible packaging: the wild nature pattern on transparency gives new meaning when combined with the product itself. The patterns imitating the colors of wild animals are made with a wide brush and black ink, which gives them a slightly sloppy and more realistic look.

At the moment, there are 3 types of products in the line: almonds, cashews, and sunflower seeds. Having carefully studied the product, we paid attention not so much to the shape of each type of nut, but to the rich color range of the nut. And we decided to draw an analogy with the texture of wild fur.

Each SKU corresponds to the color of a wild animal. Almonds are packed in tiger color, cashews in leopard, sunflower in zebra. Comparison with wild animals not only tells us about the character of the brand but also that by using this product, we will be just as strong, smart, and fast. The logo also has a wild and aggressive character, as if the letters want to grab space outside the packaging. The packaging itself begs to be torn and wild nuts are finally eaten!

The case presents both the final appearance of the product and the first prototypes of packaging, with which it all began.
The brand idea during a workshop dedicated to exploring the possibilities of flexible packaging.

The product is designed for a wide range of buyers, both children, and adults. We hope that nut lovers will appreciate not only the high quality of the product but also the creative approach in packaging. Bon Appetit!
