Where Giants Roam Brought The Balvenie Fifty Collection First Edition to Life with Stunning Visuals

Smooth. Crafted. Warmth. The Balvenie Fifty Collection has been created on these foundations. The first release in the three-part series, The Balvenie Fifty Collection’s First Edition pays homage to five decades of makers who pushed the boundaries of their craft to inspire the distillery today. Their stories have been interwoven into one exquisite fifty year old single malt.

Working with The Balvenie and their branding partners, Here Design, we worked on a comprehensive suite of visuals that would showcase the swirling sculptural packaging design, with the hero animation and key visual bringing to life the concept in all its glory, where we see the bottle enveloped in its walnut and gold casing. Through a series of lighting and motion tests, we aligned the final edit with existing brand assets, developing a scene that felt natural yet curated through soft, golden lighting and subtle, organic wall textures. A key concern for The Balvenie team was that of the sculptural form accompanying the bottle, ensuring the textures maintained absolute photorealism, paired with a movement that wouldn’t be possible to capture with live production.

Alongside this, our complete virtual control enabled us to manipulate lighting and materials of the bottle to ensure legibility across all shots, gradually revealing the age of the product amongst macro beauty shots showcasing the golden liquid colour, the high end bottle screenprinting, and the structure surrounding it. All of this culminated in a resolve shot, designed with flexibility and ease of use in mind. The final piece is a world that reflects the story behind The Balvenie Fifty Collection’s First Edition; an environment for this rare bottle to live in. This world twists and turns, weaving together the stories of this whisky and those who made it, at once organic and refined.

The versatility of this content speaks for itself, featuring across The Balvenie’s website, social channels and in multiple OOH touchpoints – including an impressive activation in one of the worlds’ most prestigious department stores, Harrod’s.
