Weddington Supply Co.: Breathing New Life Into a Beloved Legacy

Weddington Supply Co.: Breathing New Life Into a Beloved Legacy

Weddington Golf & Tennis was once a cherished gathering place in Studio City, Los Angeles — a local landmark where community, leisure, and sport converged under the California sun. When the facility closed, its absence left more than an empty space; it left a story untold. Weddington Supply Co. was born from that story — not as a replica of what once was, but as a continuation of its spirit. The new brand reimagines the essence of Weddington, transforming nostalgia into a modern lifestyle and apparel identity rooted in authenticity, ease, and quiet sophistication.

This project was led by Rebecca Arnaud, a Creative Brand Designer with over eight years of experience crafting thoughtful, emotionally resonant identities. Known for her philosophy that “creativity should never fit into a box,” Rebecca brings to each project a rare blend of vision, intuition, and storytelling. Her work spans across cultures and continents — from China to London to Canada — but what defines her approach is consistency in purpose: to translate feeling into form, memory into meaning, and history into timeless design.

The Creative Journey
Designing Weddington Supply Co. was about walking the delicate line between heritage and modernity. The challenge lay in preserving the emotional connection people had with the original Weddington while evolving it into something relevant for today’s audience. Rebecca approached the project not as a rebrand, but as a reframing. “Good design doesn’t erase heritage,” she notes. “It reframes it.”
The visual direction drew inspiration from the understated charm of California’s golf and tennis culture — where sun-washed courts, vintage polos, and weathered leather bags tell stories of effortless leisure. The palette embraces earthy neutrals and muted greens, evoking the texture of grass, sand, and sun-aged wood. Typography was intentionally quiet yet confident — an echo of the brand’s calm sophistication. The logo suite was designed to be versatile and timeless, adaptable across apparel, packaging, and digital platforms, ensuring that Weddington would feel cohesive in any context.

From Space to Spirit
Every element of Weddington’s identity was crafted to feel lived-in — not forced or overly polished, but natural, familiar, and enduring. The brand system balances nostalgia with simplicity, allowing space for the past to breathe within the present. Instead of relying on heavy illustration or loud visual cues, Rebecca focused on subtle storytelling — the kind that speaks softly but lingers deeply.
The result is a brand that doesn’t simply commemorate what Weddington once was, but carries its essence forward. It feels as though the California breeze still passes through it — the same warmth, the same community energy, just expressed in a new form.

A Legacy Reimagined
Weddington Supply Co. stands as a tribute to California’s timeless lifestyle: heritage meeting contemporary ease. More than a facility reborn, it’s a cultural bridge between generations — where design meets memory, and leisure becomes a state of mind.
For Rebecca, this project was about transforming a shared memory into something that could be lived and worn today. In her hands, design becomes more than aesthetics; it becomes an act of preservation — a way of honoring what came before while creating something beautifully relevant for what comes next.
In every texture, tone, and typographic detail, Weddington Supply Co. whispers the same message that once echoed across the courts: connection never fades — it evolves.
