Vroom is a cold brew direct-to-consumer company with subscription services offered. Focused on using less packaging, Vroom provides a quality organic fairtrade product. Vroom strives to better the people it interacts with while supporting the hardworking coffee farmers of the world.
Vroom was styled in a Dada-inspired way to convey a non-conventional brand that has many priorities. The choice to use sustainable packaging further contributes to the brand’s commitments. Collages mixed with large typographic elements visually sets the brand apart from its competition.
This project was originally a packaging project that evolved into a branded cold brew company. I first fell in love with Dada during the beginning of my studies at San Diego City College. I was taking the Graphic Design History class taught by Candice Lopez, she is an amazing Designer and Professor. I wanted to find a way to take inspiration from Dadaism and apply it to my work. I felt a coffee brand would be a perfect fit for that inspiration to live. The non-conformity, randomness with an oddly balanced aesthetic is reminiscent of the modern coffee culture.
In addition to Dada, I was also inspired by my love for the planet, and nature. I chose to use a medium that could be more environmentally friendly. Another value the modern coffee culture has adopted. The decision to use a less wasteful 2 size system spawned the inspiration for another idea; to give back. I chose to make Vroom a company that would help lower its impact on the environment and the farmers and people in the areas where coffee is farmed. All too often big coffee companies chose to turn a blind eye to the cultures and people in the locations they source their coffee beans. Vroom will never do that because it will donate a portion of its quarterly net profits to support the communities and cultures in locations where it sources its beans.
