Visual Identity for Myristica, a Modern Caribbean Dining Experience in England

Visual Identity for Myristica, a Modern Caribbean Dining Experience in England

Myristica is a London based supper club serving modern Caribbean inspired cuisine. Dishes are rooted in Caribbean flavours and traditions while also celebrating the local and seasonal ingredients that England offers. We provide a unique and modern approach to the traditionally homely and soul-satisfying food of the Caribbean and do so in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

Born and bred in London, Michelle knew from an early age that she had a special relationship with food. After finishing school at 16, she immediately applied and was accepted to the acclaimed Westminster Culinary Arts College. After graduating from college after 3 years she had already been trained in some of London’s best-known establishments including The Savoy and Claridges.

Michelle has spent time in various Michelin starred kitchens & spent years at the one Michelin starred restaurant La Trompette under the acclaimed Bruce Poole, being part of their team both before and after gaining their respectable Michelin star accolade.

After consistently delivering high standards to a variety of guests through the years and developing her own style along the way, she has launched Myristica, a monthly Supper Club where her heritage of the Caribbean is reflected throughout the menu.

Michelle is a MasterChef: The Professionals 2018 Semi-Finalist. In 2019 she was named ‘one of the most successful contestants who have transformed their career since being on the show’ & appears in MasterChef: The Professionals – The Rematch 2019.

Michelle’s well thought out dishes are designed to excite, stimulate, and intrigue.

The meaning of the name is the Latin word for the tree which produces the two spices: nutmeg and mace. The symbol is a modern interpretation of the shape of the nutmeg fruit. For us, this symbolises what Myristica is all about: staying true to traditional values of Caribbean cuisine but being reborn as a modern, contemporary take on what Caribbean food can be. We spent a lot of time narrowing down the colours as we wanted to convey the right message from the very start. The colours we have chosen are earthy yet exciting shades of our modern nutmeg interpretation. The colours are Intriguing and unique.
