For the Korean laundry detergent brand Our Herb Story, VILKA Agency developed two complementary visual directions that demonstrate how packaging can translate both function and emotion into a coherent on‑shelf language.
One path employed concise iconography of washing machines and garments to bypass language barriers and clarify use at a glance, supported by a bold yet minimal pairing of purple and muted acid green that asserts presence in a crowded aisle while remaining controlled and legible.
The other drew on images of crystal‑like peaks and still, reflective waters to transform the idea of deep cleaning into a metaphor of untouched Korean landscapes.
The designers’ goal was to transfer the notions of purity and tranquility from concept to surface so that the pack becomes a quiet promise of care rather than a purely technical container. Each line, symbol, and color field is treated as a visible extension of the product’s role in everyday life.
The agency has ensured that the design choices serve usability and recognition while also offering a more poetic reading of what a detergent can represent in the home.
Orchestrating packaging systems seamlessly seems easy. But for a brand to travel between categories and cultures while remaining rooted in local stories is not. From crystal peaks to nuanced color coding, each detail should be treated as a narrative device rather than mere decoration.
The result is packaging that not only stands out on the shelf but also extends the brand’s promises of trust, purity, and well-being into tangible, everyday objects.
