Design of a packaging for a coffee liqueur 100% Arábica Vicente Vispo, the crown jewel of a small craft producer of Allariz (Galicia), considered one of the most beautiful towns of Spain. Company with a long tradition in elaborating all sorts of liqueurs and drinks derived from coffee. This liqueur is totally family and handmade and its production is very limited (100 units). Vicente puts all his efforts in producing very exclusive coffee liqueurs, being a product only up for a few lucky ones, like friends and commitments.

To conceptualise and develop this project we asked Vicente to define in one word how his liqueur was or what it differentiated from others. With a smile on his face his reply was: “A Bomb”! We flipped out with his response back as it was super clear to us that his liqueur meant to him “an explosion” to the senses. This is why we wanted the evolution of this project to revolve around this definition. We knew then that the naming of this product could not be other than Danger-Coffee. We proposed a spherical design of the container and a piece of rope on its lock, this way we got to formally describe the traditional and iconic hand bomb. As a result we managed to produce a recognisable and unique container and that has generated a pleasant smile on the consumer. On the other hand, we proposed that the bottles were presented in wooden boxes of three units, supported by a military look, thanks to a stencil typography. In the box we used the word Danger, making reference to the fact that the consumers had in their hands a “sensitive material”. This way we could link conceptually and formally the box with the container of coffee liqueur.

Both formally and conceptually, we have tried to differentiate this from the classic coffee liqueurs and to be able to reach other types of consumer, used a bit or not used at all to this kind of drink. We wanted to create an object of desire, a wanted and coveted by all drink, a small treasury with a strong personality.
