Tried&True Design Transforms Kāpiti Yoghurt with Premium Packaging Led by Quality Photography

Kāpiti has been making incredible dairy products here in Aotearoa since 1984. Unmistakably New Zealand, the names, stories and creativity behind the products all reflect their unique provenance. Up until now, Kāpiti has been renowned for their premium range of cheese and ice cream. Our client saw an opportunity to launch in a new category – yoghurt, offering a delicious, luxurious treat for those indulgent moments.

Building on the Kāpiti brand promise of ‘Mouthwatering taste discoveries’, we wanted to capture the very essence of Kāpiti – captivating and exciting tastes, textures and flavour adventures. Our aim was to create a product that not only tastes exceptional but also tells a story through its presentation.

Using black for the pack was a no-brainer, it’s the Kāpiti brand colour and speaks to the premium nature of the brand and product. However, black can be recessive on the shelf, particularly in the chiller space of the supermarket. To overcome this, we needed our packs to ‘pop’, to clearly distinguish between flavour variants and bring that flavour to life – essentially, we wanted our consumers to eat with their eyes!

We photographed the towers of flavour, making them the hero of the pack. These vibrant images are juicy, gooey, and utterly irresistible, leaving you wanting more. They’re not picture-perfect; they’re real, messy, and show the genuine passion for the flavour adventure that Kāpiti embodies. This approach not only highlights the authenticity of the product but also resonates with the consumer’s desire for a genuine and indulgent experience.

The new yoghurt range promises to delight consumers, offering a luxurious and indulgent experience with every spoonful. By staying true to the Kāpiti brand and ensuring that the packaging reflects the premium quality and mouthwatering taste of the product, we believe that this new venture will be a resounding success. The captivating design, coupled with the rich and diverse flavours, ensures that Kāpiti’s yoghurt stands out in a crowded market, making it a must-try for all dairy lovers.
