Toucan is a premium coffee brand known for sourcing its high-quality coffee beans from the lush tropical forests of Latin America. When Magenta Creative Agency was approached to develop packaging for Toucan, our mission was clear: to craft a design that would not only captivate shoppers in the Middle East but also tell the story of the brand’s unique origins. The name “Toucan” itself is inspired by the vibrant bird that inhabits the same tropical regions where the coffee beans are carefully harvested.

The challenge was twofold: we needed to create packaging that would catch the eye of consumers while standing out on crowded supermarket shelves next to well-established coffee brands in the Middle East. Additionally, the packaging needed to communicate the story behind the product, emphasizing the connection to its tropical roots, all while maintaining a premium aesthetic that would reflect the brand’s high-quality offering.

To achieve this, our design team focused on creating visually striking packaging that was both engaging and storytelling. We developed a series of illustrations featuring the Toucan bird in various scenarios within its natural environment, each scene representing a different product variant. These artistic depictions not only added character to the brand but also allowed us to communicate the product’s Latin American heritage in a visually compelling way.

We utilized a rich, mysterious color palette combined with sleek, modern fonts to convey the premium nature of the product. The result was packaging that stood out from the competition while delivering a sophisticated, luxurious feel. Thanks to this approach, Toucan’s packaging gained significant recognition and helped establish the brand as a standout premium coffee in Middle Eastern markets.
