Thirst Elevates Spitfire Lager with a Fresh, Humorous, and Unapologetically British Identity

Thirst Elevates Spitfire Lager with a Fresh, Humorous, and Unapologetically British Identity

Thirst were briefed by Shepheard Neame to deliver a new visual brand identity for Spitfire lager that creates fresh relevance and recall to attract new audiences and drive modern reappraisal.

Spitfire, a well-loved British brand, found itself at a crossroads. With Kent known primarily for its ales, Spitfire’s lager offering was often overlooked or seen as just another ‘me-too’ option on tap. With a perception of the brand as one of 90s Britain, we needed to reimagine Spitfire Lager with an identity fit for the future – one that would bring fresh meaning to a new generation of drinkers, stand out and improve recall, whilst staying true to its Kentish roots.

We took a dive deep into what makes Britain tick today. From the buzzing streets of London to the hop filled fields of Kent, we explored the perfect blend of tradition and modernity that defines contemporary British culture. Bottled in an identity to allow our beer shine.

‘Refreshingly Modern Britain’ became our rallying cry. We set out to create a brand that felt like a breath of fresh air in the crowded lager market – bold, witty, and unapologetically British.

We crafted a visual identity that balances heritage with humour. A vibrant and bright colour palette, with the warm blues of a classic British summer day, and premiumised design elements that breathe fresh new life into the brand, making it stand out on tap and at shelf.

But it’s not just about looks. We’ve positioned Spitfire Lager as the go-to choice for those moments when you want to celebrate the best of British – whether that’s a sizzling day in the pub garden or a great night in with friends.

Let’s raise a glass to Refreshingly Modern Britain.
