The Spice Trade Brand Identity Designed by Diogo Ferreira and Diogo Rosa

The Spice Trade promises to deliver a variety of the finest and unique flavors from every corner of the world to the most curious chefs. Each month subscribers receive a collection that transports them to another part of the world, exploring its culture, flavors, and history through its spices without leaving their homes.

Alongside the physical box there will be a complete digital interactive experience for each month’s spices. The digital experience will take customers on a tour of that month’s country, exploring the culture, cuisine, lifestyle and history of the region.

Inspired by the origin of the spices – the Orient – through its spice markets’ vibrant colors and the architecture present in the arches of the windows and doors (a door to a world of flavors), we defined a visual expression that embraced the romanticism and mysticism of this world.

Using an elegant typeface with accentuated curves and prominent serifs reminiscent of the Orient, the Spice Trade logo was designed.
This typography is also used in the rest of the identity in its light weight that demonstrates the delicacy of the use of spices.
It is accompanied by a set of earthy yet vibrant colours that evoke spices and nature. Only such a vivid colour palette would make sense in a project that portrays spices and the oriental world.
In addition to this the identity gives use to photography that has a mystical yet adventurous feeling and look.
This elements were set to create the unique visual identity of The Spice Trade.
