The project is dedicated to the work of the writer and father of horror, H.P. Lovecraft, the mysterious world of his strange fiction, and the limits of the unknown, where typography becomes a gateway to the unknown. This exhibition is the key to hidden worlds where dark entities and ancient fears linger, slumbering beyond the horizon of visibility.
The central element of the project is a specially designed typeface, inspired by Lovecraftian horrors and his literary characters. Each symbol and letter conceals the secret of an unknown world, prompting the viewer to ponder the boundaries of perception and open gateways to enigmatic, ancient worlds. Special monster letters were also created for the typeface, adding mystery and variety. Some letters have mechanical tentacles, others have horns and paws, and others have wings and tails.
These letters live within the identity, adding dynamics and unexpected effects to the design, especially on digital media. This approach not only expands the visual component but also transforms the spectacle into an atmosphere of mystery, creating the feeling that gates to the unknown are opening right before one’s eyes, inviting one to explore mysterious worlds that challenge one’s usual perceptions.
The project’s final composition explores reflections on the boundaries of human perception, the dark corners of consciousness and unexplored universes, and how the most terrible secrets often lie beyond the boundaries of the familiar, and only the boldness of the external gaze allows one to discover the true face of the world around us.
