The Luxury of Leaving It All Behind: Introducing Holiday Vodka, by Kingdom & Sparrow

Holiday wanted to challenge the traditionally cold vodka category with a premium offering that embodied the spirit and glamour of coastal Italy – building a strong emotional connection with consumers through a nostalgic nod to holidays past and present.

They sought to encapsulate the laid-back elegance of aperitivo hours spent on the sun-drenched Amalfi Coast, where the air is thick with the clinking of glasses accompanying lively conversation. While also evoking the sophistication of après-ski nestled in the snow-capped Dolomites. Our solution is a brand and bottle design that transports the consumer to idyllic settings, allowing them to savour the spirit of both summer’s zest and winter’s embrace with every pour.

The brand is epitomised in a custom logotype built from traditional Italian and European styling which carries through to the overarching identity and label design where the logo takes centre stage in a deep, rossa tone. The wider brand is full of collaged scenes at every turn, creating a dream-like Holiday world, combining location photography and oversized ingredients and people to create playful, familiar scenes. This invites the consumer into the brand through a sense of familiarity and an enviable feeling of relaxation.

From the very beginning of the process, we knew a vodka of this quality required a bespoke bottle design. One that would cast a distinctive silhouette on the shelf and at the back of any bar that would communicate this was a vodka unlike any other. We took inspiration from Italian architecture and worked closely with Holiday to develop a custom sculpted design that has an elegance and a warmth whilst also showcasing the incredible clarity of the vodka in a design that feels timeless.

The bottle features sloping shoulders and grooves that are shaped to refract the light and emit dappling light across tables and bars. We built the label to work within the shapes of the bottle and create minimal interference with the beauty of the light through the glass. The logo sits confidently with delicate print finishes that elevate the sense of quality and further reflect the luxury of classical Italian destinations. A custom stopper crowns the bottle neck, creating a unique consumer interaction that further enriches the premium experience.

The Holiday branding and bottle design capture the essence of Italian holidays whilst appealing to consumers looking for a unique, premium spirit – promising a getaway in every sip and the warmth of nostalgia for holidays past. Capturing the imaginations of existing and new vodka consumers.
