Delusions, A.I., capitalism, forced engagement, influencers, crypto, and trolls… In his book “The End of Social,” author Mario Moroni delivers an unapologetic and raw portrayal of the Social Media landscape. In a world of dream merchants wielding false promises as their winning weapon, there’s value in telling it like it is, even when it means exposing the less glamorous sides. The author, indeed, presents the perspective of an early adopter who, over time, has shed their once absolute enthusiasm for social media in favor of a more realistic and mature outlook.

This is a book that speaks truth, even if it hurts.
That’s why, at Blueorange, the apulian creative agency entrusted with the graphic design process, we’ve depicted it with an equally brutal and edgy graphic style.

The graphic design project stems from a meticulous analysis of the text and the intrinsic thoughts of the author, Mario Moroni, already renowned for his bestseller “Shitty Startups.” Each page is distinct, in constant flux akin to social media platforms. Pages that are often imperfect: faux printing errors, deletions, and abundant interaction. An layout to underline, color, and engage with. A catalyst for personal reflection on the world of social media.

Thus, the graphic design not only “dresses” the content but becomes a communicative megaphone, amplifying and disseminating the provocative message the author wishes to convey. An intriguing, empirical book that serves as a testament to a generation that, for better or worse, is pervasively influenced by the internet. A read with a direct and unfiltered style, akin to a cold splash of water: initially staggering (and perhaps a bit frustrating), but ultimately leading to greater clarity over time.

“The End of Social” is not a book to gather dust on shelves.
The end of social is a punk book.
It’s a book to tear apart. To erase. To burn.
