“Foods for a Brighter Planet” is the motto behind Brytlife Foods. Founded in Brooklyn, New York as a small batch, artisanal vegan foods company crafting the highest quality plant-based yogurts and cheeses. Our team created a brand identity that reinforces Brytlife’s mission to produce sustainable and approachable plant-based foods that taste delicious, while inspiring happiness and positivity. A thick, curvaceous word mark evokes the decadence of the products, while the lowercase letters feel playful and approachable. We replaced the tittle with a leaf icon, a subtle wink to this plant-based brand. The packaging design is elegant, bold and eye-catching by juxtaposing bright and colorful watercolor art against modern text in a field of white space. It was important that all visual elements reflect the ethos of Brytlife – delicious, hand-crafted vegan foods made with clean, healthy plant-based ingredients.
Brytlife was born out of a passion to recreate dairy using plants. I practiced corporate law in NYC for many years when my soul became bored and restless. I wanted to do something that would make me feel like I was contributing something of value. I was always fascinated by science and, in particular, how the human body works, so after practicing law for almost 10 years, I decided to quit the firm, pursue my lifelong passion, and go to medical school to heal people. When I finished the Post-bacc Pre-med program and was considering medical schools, I began to have feelings of doubt. I thought to myself: “Do I really want to ‘heal’ people using pharmaceutical drugs – or is there a better way?” I chose to explore a better way and enrolled in nutrition courses focused on how to heal with whole foods. After studying the benefits of a plant-based diet, I was sold! But rather than preach the advantages of a plant-based diet, I decided to make it super easy for everyone to enjoy good health by making healthy food myself because, quite frankly, I couldn’t imagine life without my favorite dairy products, like mozzarella and Greek style yogurt, and it turns out, I didn’t have to. And so Brytlife foods was born.
