Scotia Works are a signage manufacturing company located in the North of England. With a strong commitment to quality and innovation, they had built a reputation for excellence in the signage industry. Prior to their recent rebranding, the Managing Director felt that their brand identity did not adequately reflect this dedication. The previous branding featured generic imagery and a stock logo, which unfortunately caused Scotia Works to blend into the sea of competitors in their marketplace.
Understanding the need for a transformation, Scotia Works contacted me through LinkedIn with the exciting opportunity to develop a new brand identity that would set them apart. This project aimed to capture the essence of their craftsmanship and innovation. To achieve this, I employed a vibrant colour palette, striking typography, and a completely bespoke logo mark.
The logo mark was crafted by intertwining the letters “S” and “W” from the Scotia Works name into a unique monogram. This design process was not merely an aesthetic choice; it was done this way to represent Scotia Works’ own manufacturing philosophy—one that is careful, meticulous, and hand-crafted. This mark was then further used as a brand pattern on the company stationery.
I wanted to further highlight the companies values by utilising carefully chosen stock imagery featuring stages of the manufacturing process. Many signage companies take orders for signs but have them built elsewhere – Scotia Works make everything themselves which is a key unique selling point for the business.
The brand design was topped off with a small website design featuring photos of their work and iconography that highlighted their full range of services.
Scotia Works is now ready to make a lasting impression, reflecting their values and expertise. The new identity not only distinguishes them from their competitors but also celebrates their values and vision for the future.
