Sweet and Sour Studio Creates Bonito Branding

A brand everyone can relate to, unpretentious and straightforward.
The brand Bonito was born with a simple and fulfilling idea in mind: to improve all our livable spaces by getting us closer to nature. Everybody loves the idea of having plants at home but it can be expensive, hard to maintain, or even dangerous to our pets or children.
This is how Bonito was born, armed with a different approach.
Designed pots
Our pots “Teo” and “Moli” are not just beautiful and useful products, they are also a tribute to our history. Moli is based on the shapes of our prehispanic pots. And Teo is a glimpse of the brutalist architecture style of modern Mexico. Great quality materials and 100% made in Mexico.
The plants
We know that plants are the best friends for interior design, that’s why the brand create a diverse selection of beautiful plants. Small, big, with small leaves or big ones, different textures and colors. Of course low-maintenance plants and safe for kids & pets.
Accessories
Fun accessories to add a personal touch, and easy-to-use soils and fertilizers for happy plants.
Everything is just one click away and delivered to your door to avoid the trip to the botanical garden.
An important characteristic of the brand is that it was created “for everyone”. We wanted to move away from boutique stores and be a brand that inspires everyone with the confidence to start in the world of indoor plants. This is why we decided to create an accessible, close and unpretentious brand under the name “Bonito.” Bonito (pretty) is both: an expression of affection, and the simplest way to describe something pleasant or satisfying. A short, positive, and memorable name that connects with everyone.
Bonito also became our brand mantra for process and product development:
“Bonito is the opportunity to work hand in hand with Mexican artisans, designers, artists, and plant nurseries, to produce full-of-life objects with incredible design to bring nature to all your spaces.”
A simple, happy, and casual concept reflects on the visual language used across different media such as a brochure, social media content, and packaging.
