The design revolves around the natural surroundings of the olive groves. In an attempt to forge a connection between the product and its land and surroundings, it evokes the colours of the blossoming fields of olive trees in spring.
Two aspects of a healthy lifestyle are combined within the design: extra virgin olive oil and the natural environment in which it is produced. The visual language chosen is an unconventional one in the olive oil industry. The packaging opts for nature in an abstract and conceptual way using visual means which convey a youthful and cheerful mood with a modern focus. The abstract shapes of the flowers on each bottle are a key feature of the brand and they dominate much of the packaging, blending with the symbol of the Tándem brand.
The colour scheme that was created is used to differentiate between the varieties offered by the brand and corresponds with the three main flowers of the landscape.
The design interacts with the audience with a positive experience through the friendly and colourful visual language, a language recognisable at first glance. Its clean presentation will let the customer know that the product has been carefully made. The bottles have rounded edges and a soft glossy finish. The distinctive use of colour helps the clients to quickly identify the different varieties of olive oil. The pourer bottle cap is non-refillable and non-drip, which provides a comfortable and pleasant experience while it is being served.
The designer worked closely with the olive oil producer to develop the image and characteristics of the bottles. The opportunity was taken to visit the olive fields to learn about the origin of the olive oil. The design was the result of the research of the natural environment and of the native flower species that live within it.
The challenge was to help Tándem to stand out in a crowded market and to successfully communicate the visual information in a tidy fashion to make it recognisable. Also to opt for a packaging that would convey positive feelings. The company founders want to connect with younger consumers who care about olive oil. In order to attract younger generations, an accessible and practical image was created.
This bottle is manufactured into glass with rounded shapes, a capacity of 500ml. Its measurements are 18cm height and 8cm width.
