Studio Unbound Brings Saluti to Life with an Iconic Lemon-Inspired Bottle Design

Studio Unbound Brings Saluti to Life with an Iconic Lemon-Inspired Bottle Design

From concept to commercial success: Studio Unbound’s Saluti transformation

What started as a simple idea has blossomed into reality – Saluti, a limoncello crafted with authentic lemons picked from the lemon hills of Amalfi and inspired by the joy of shared moments. Tasked with transforming an early concept into a market-ready product, Studio Unbound created distinctive packaging that communicates flavour, fun, and authenticity whilst ensuring maximum shelf standout.

Working closely with a specialist bottle production agency, Studio Unbound developed a unique bottle that mirrors a lemon in both shape and texture. The playful yet practical design features a rounded silhouette that captures the essence of the fruit while being carefully engineered for retail stability and shelf appeal. Crucially, the brand name ‘Saluti’ was given prominence through bold, distinctive typography that cuts through the visual noise of crowded retail environments.

The thoughtful packaging design extends beyond the bottle to the outer box. Drawing inspiration from rustic fruit crates, the box features ingenious fold-down lids that reveal the bottle inside whilst transforming into an attractive point-of-sale display – perfect for both retail environments and gifting occasions. The brand name remains clearly visible and impactful across all touchpoints, ensuring instant recognition whether displayed individually or as part of a larger spirits selection.

“From the outset, our approach was to balance authentic charm with commercial reality,” explains Martyn Garrod, Creative Director at Studio Unbound. “We needed Saluti to feel handcrafted and approachable, but also to command attention on busy retail shelves. The brand name needed to work hard – it had to be legible from a distance whilst feeling warm and inviting up close. Every detail – from the custom typography to the tactile textures – was chosen to embody the spirit of this beautiful product whilst ensuring it performs commercially.”

Jeroen Hemels, Founder of Saluti, had this to say about the relationship with Studio Unbound, “When we started, we came up with a great name for our limoncello: Saluti. We secured the domain SALUTI.com and began preparing for launch.
To our surprise, we discovered that there was already a company that had designed a beautiful bottle, so we reached out to explore the possibility of a collaboration.
That’s how we met Martyn. He turned out to be a truly inspiring and highly professional person – and simply a great guy. We clicked right from the start and are confident this will be a lifelong partnership.
The iconic bottle he designed has become the foundation of our success”
