Josipina Starkl was born and raised in the small village of Gregovce in Bizeljsko, at the Nujec farmstead, a place steeped in tradition and history. From a young age, Josipina was surrounded by the natural beauty of the vineyards and the rolling hills that defined her homeland. After her marriage to Adolf, the couple relocated to the picturesque town of Bled, where they took over a charming restaurant with rooms on the shores of the lake. This restaurant, known for its warm hospitality and stunning views, quickly became a beloved destination for visitors to Bled. Following her husband’s untimely passing, Josipina chose to remain in Bled, where she spent the rest of her life, becoming a respected and integral part of the community.

The grapevines used to create this exceptional sparkling wine were carefully cultivated just a stone’s throw from Josipina’s birthplace in Bizeljsko.
