SUPFEST BAIKAL is a stand-up paddleboarding festival set on Lake Baikal, celebrating movement, community, and a shared rhythm between people and water. The project draws inspiration from the SUP DOCK — an inflatable platform that serves as a point of gathering, docking, and collective activity. Used for yoga, fitness, and rest on the water, the SUP DOCK functions as both a physical and symbolic center of the festival, embodying ideas of unity, attraction, and balance. Around this central hub, the life of the festival unfolds, forming a dynamic system driven by motion and connection.
The visual identity is built around the SUP DOCK as the core element from which the entire system originates. Acting as a focal point, it organizes the surrounding elements and establishes a clear visual metaphor: a single center generating collective movement. The identity reflects the rhythm of paddling, drifting, and gathering, translating the physical experience of the festival into a coherent visual language rooted in flow and repetition.
A key visual motif of the identity is the transformation of the SUP DOCK and SUP boards into a flower-like form. The circular structure of the dock resembles both a flower and the sun, while the departing SUP boards extend outward like petals. This imagery reinforces ideas of natural harmony, energy, and growth, echoing the landscape of Lake Baikal and the cyclical movement of the festival itself. The composition shifts depending on context, allowing the “flower” to open, rotate, and reconfigure while maintaining its recognizable structure.
Through this system, SUPFEST BAIKAL is presented not merely as a sporting event, but as a living organism shaped by collective participation. The visual identity captures the essence of shared motion and community, transforming the functional elements of paddleboarding into an expressive symbol of togetherness. By grounding the identity in a single central form, the project creates a clear and memorable narrative that reflects the spirit of the festival and its connection to nature, water, and human rhythm.
