Student Rebranding Concept for the Museum of Broken Relationships

The Museum of Broken Relationships is a physical and virtual public space created for the sole purpose of preserving and sharing our stories of heartbreak and symbolic things. It is a museum about you, about us, about how we love and what we lose.
Located in Zagreb, Croatia.

The museum is special because it contains different exhibits that people associate with their personal breakup story. Each of these exhibits has a story of a relationship breakup written on it. This makes the stories especially reverent and imbued with feelings and personal experiences.

After conducting in-depth research, I concluded that the museum lacks the intense emotionality and soulfulness of the signature style. For this reason, the concept of expressive resentment was put at the heart of the corporate identity. During a painful breakup, people often deface cars and other property of their exes with a can of spray paint, telling about the reason for the breakup. This comes from resentment, from the desire of people to tell the story of their breakup, to shout to the world about the cause of what happened, from the inability to keep silent about their feelings.

Corporate identity can be divided into two main parts:
A strict layout, made according to the rules of Swiss layout and emotional drawings with spray paint, in which the whole essence of the disclosed story of the breakup in the relationship.

The core of the logo also reads the idea of changing the meaning with a can of spray paint. In the inscription “Museum of Broken Relationships” the inscription “Relationships” is crossed out, which on the one hand reveals the meaning of the museum and its exhibits, and on the other hand shows the emotional intensity.
