This project started with the idea of introducing the feeling of cinematic magic into the world of wine. To achieve this visually, the iconic paper wine bottle label was reimagined in the form of a classic film reel. The film wraps around each bottle and creates fascinating patterns when multiple bottles are displayed next to each other. The overall design is deliberately minimalistic, only the most essential information is displayed on the front of the bottle to further accentuate the film reel. The parts which are usually left as blank paper on most whine labels are cut out, which allows the film reel to feel natural and light without obstructing the viewer from the beautiful colors of the wine itself. The colored non-transparent areas of the label on the back match the wine color and are placeholders for shop barcodes and small text (country and place of origin, storage instructions, ABV, etc). It also has color-coordination purposes when the label design is used on the box and not the bottle itself.

The intentional simplicity of the resulting design makes the bottle feel clean and refined, while also supporting the idea that the wine should accompany and enhance the cinematic experience and not overtake it.

This project was an important step in my creative studies and allowed me to explore new areas of design. Its creation was inspired by the art-direction course at HSE Art and Design School, where I had the privilege of receiving guidance and support from professionals in the field. Additionally, I would like to thank my tutor, Tanya Dunaeva, who helped me refine and polish the idea and its visual representation, providing support and mentorship on the project.
