Student Mike Katano Creates a Moscow Style by Unveiling the VDNH Souvenir Collection

Briefly about the company: “Souvenirs sold in the city in 90% of collections look monotonous, not modern, and for the most part only the inscription MOSCOW, abundance of gold, photographs of the Kremlin and temples catches the eye” — Department of commercial programs and work with partners, Department of souvenirs of VDNH. VDNH is an abbreviation for the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy.

Target audience: People aged 12 to 60 who buy souvenirs and gifts during excursions and trips.
The goal is to develop a new souvenir collection “MOSCOW. VDNKH”, which includes both individual elements/characters and collections of patterns. The new style should be simple and understandable, designating VDNH as a point of attraction with outstanding architecture in a modern beautiful city (and country).
For many who visit the capital of VDNH =Moscow=Russia.

The task is to emphasize the uniqueness of VDNH, focusing on the development and renewal of Moscow as a whole, in a fresh and democratic style.

Solution:
A unique pattern has been developed for the new souvenir products, consisting of characteristic elements inherent in VDNH: trees, monuments, benches, exhibition pavilions, etc. There is a large aquarium with dolphins on the territory of VDNH. This unique animal is also present in the pattern. The elements are strongly mixed together, which symbolizes a large number of interesting things on the territory of VDNH.

The pattern uses red and white colors. They go well together. The chosen colors are also bright, so they ideally attract attention to new souvenirs. They also convey the heritage and character of VDNH well.
