Panagraph represents a comprehensive rebrand and revitalization of LanguageGeek, one of the leading organizations advocating for endangered language preservation through digital typography and keyboard solutions. The project centers on strengthening the platform through strategic design applications, encompassing a new brand identity, website architecture, and awareness campaign. This transformation aligns with the United Nations’ declaration of 2022-2032 as the International Decade for Indigenous Languages, underscoring the pressing need to support linguistic diversity and cultural preservation.
The primary objective focused on establishing Panagraph as a trustworthy, professional partner in language preservation while unifying its services under a cohesive visual identity. The strategy emphasized developing digital tools and typefaces that accurately represent Indigenous languages, particularly through place-name restoration initiatives across British Columbia. This approach demonstrates the practical application of proper digital language support while highlighting its cultural significance.
The new brand conveys the key aspects of Panagraph’s core values, presents them as a trustworthy professional partner, and unites the brand under one consistent visual identity. The implementation phase encompassed three core components. First, the brand identity development focused on creating visual elements that communicate professionalism while honouring Indigenous cultural heritage. Second, the website redesign transformed the digital platform into an intuitive resource hub, enhancing accessibility for users across different technical proficiency levels. Third, the awareness campaign utilized integrated marketing approaches, combining traditional media with digital platforms to showcase the importance of proper typography in language preservation.
