The ‘Green Treasure Chest’ is a hair accessory set designed to encourage eco-consciousness among young adults. It offers four upcycled accessories to inspire them about upcycling, leading them towards a greener lifestyle.
While many young adults nowadays have developed an interest in purchasing secondhand fashion items, their primary motivation of thrifting often does not stem from environmental concern. The challenge here is to make their top-of-mind intention of buying secondhand items is to save the environment.
The idea of one-of-a-kind is applied. Giving the donated items that did not withstand the passage of time a new life by upcycling them to one-of-a-kind hair accessories in the store. Then, packaging them with pop imaginative characters that describe the beauty of upcycling and resell them to inspire the target consumers to upcycle and recycle creatively.
The characters can be seen in both ways, representing the item’s recycling and upcycling journey. One side showcases the pants’ patchwork to emphasize their recycled origin, while the other appears new, emphasizing the concept of upcycling. Vibrant colors add a playful touch.
The packaging set is an open box structure to convey the joyfulness when opening each of the small boxes and to minimize the material.
