Streeet Slam Jam ‘s identity reflects the spirit of street basketball and the atmosphere of Moscow’s courtyards. The visual style is based on the lines of a basketball, which symbolize the dynamics of the game and the fluidity of the urban environment. These lines transform, changing angles and perspectives, similar to the way the ball moves on the court during a match. This element emphasizes the key idea – street basketball is always changing, adapting to different locations and situations, while maintaining the same competitive spirit.
Each poster contains not only information about the upcoming matches, but also a hidden clue about the venue. The coordinates of the yard where the next game will take place are woven into the design and interact seamlessly with the graphic metaphor. These coordinates become part of the composition, creating a sense of exclusivity and inviting participants to a kind of quest to find the place. This solution strengthens the local identity of the tournament and supports the spirit of Moscow backyard traditions, where the meeting place and the game itself is more than just a sport.
The color palette of the identity combines the classic shades of a basketball – orange, white and yellow – as a bright accent reflecting the street culture and energy of the competition. The typeface chosen is boldly grotesque, emphasizing the informal and brutal nature of streetball. Visual elements create a holistic perception of Street Slam Jam as an event, where each game is a unique story, tied to a specific court, but united by a common concept and love for street basketball.
