Wert&Co. is the design industry’s most trusted search partner. They approached us to evolve their brand identity system, balancing their brand equites [the use of an ampersand as a metaphor for connection and team building] with a new expression that brings energy and excitement to their brand.
Our response was to build on their iconic ampersands that have always been at the core of their brand identity, while at the same time evolving them for digital and social mediums. We grounded the system in a simple idea: Every designer’s journey is unique. To express this we created a family of 5 hand drawn, unique 3D ampersands that are built with a continuous ribbon of white and orange, reflecting the continuous path of designer’s careers. Each ampersand is unique, with a range of aesthetic personalities—from structured and technical to expressive and ornamental. Each unique ampersand reflects a unique creative persona. Some of the ampersands are more precise and geometric, some are more expressive and calligraphic. All 5 reflect different key personalities within the design field. The result is a thoroughly contemporary collection of striking assets that build on what Wert&Co. is known for, while taking them forward into the future.
Wert&Co. has used these assets to redefine their thought leadership articles, website and their social media presence. Their posts have increased engagement dramatically, to as high as 20,000 impressions compared to a few hundred that Wert’s posts typically receive.
