Sophisticated Visual Identity of Amsterdam’s Beauty House by Colt

Colt were delighted to partner with The Beauty House, a sophisticated new destination in beauty and wellness, to create a distinctive brand identity. Located in a charming canal house in the heart of Amsterdam—and part of the iconic Pulitzer Hotel—The Beauty House combines old-world charm with a contemporary edge, offering clients a luxurious experience across three floors of carefully designed interiors.

The space itself, designed by Lore Group Creative Director Jacu Strauss and his team, is a masterclass in blending warm, neutral tones with a rich array of textures and materials. Throughout the interiors, subtle yet striking accents of red catch the eye—an homage to vintage Hollywood’s iconic red lips, symbolizing beauty, confidence, and timeless allure. This vivid color story formed the foundation of the branding approach, providing a strong visual cue for the identity.

Given this elegant and bold backdrop, Colt amplified the use of the striking red throughout the branding, ensuring it became a central element in the visual language of The Beauty House. The brand is anchored by an intricate and ornate serif typeface, carefully chosen to convey both sophistication and timelessness. This is complemented by a series of organic painted shapes that evoke the natural, tactile quality found within the space itself, adding warmth and a sense of fluidity to the brand’s overall aesthetic.

Together, these elements create a brand identity that is refined, inviting, and undeniably confident—perfectly mirroring the experience of visiting The Beauty House. The result is a visual identity that captures the balance of classic elegance and modern allure that defines this unique wellness destination.
