Soeco is a concept project for a luxury line of skin care cosmetic products. It targets both male and female audience. The objective was to create naming and packaging design for environmentally friendly cosmetic brand. Initial line includes three products i.e. body oil, facial mask and natural soap. Every time I start a new project I try to get inspiration from nature and what’s surrounding me. I believe that the most amazing designs have already been created by nature and we just have to learn to “translate” them into shapes and ideas. This particular project was not an exception.
I made a decision to stick to a minimal visual concept not overloaded by unnecessary details but with some eye-catching elements to make the product stand out. Such approach was applied for both font choice as well as colour palette and overall visual concept.

Naming: I really aimed to make the product name simple yet memorable. I decided to emphasise environmental friendliness of the cosmetics.
Product name is made of two parts, which are “co” and “eco”. First one symbolises several things at the same time i.e society and solar system. Second one highlights environmental friendliness and responsibility. As a result we got a memorable and catchy name “soeco”.

Design: While making package design I referred to solar system again. Letter “o” is presented as the Sun in the word “soeco”. I made our planet more green to associate it with grass and trees. Colour palette turned out to be natural and earthy emphasising the importance of environmental protection and care about our nature. While picking the colours I recalled my trip to Iceland and its marvellous landscapes. In my presentation I also added various natural elements such as stones, trees and leaves. This project was made using mainly Adobe family programs specifically 3D visualisation in Adobe dimension. Design was created in Adobe illustrator as well as in Adobe Photoshop. Modelling form was made in Maxon Cinema 4D.
