Lazy Oaf is a British brand of bright, unusual interior items, toys, accessories and clothing. Infantilism, madness, a variety of prints, strange characters, a riot of colors — what distinguishes these things in the world of modern fashion. So, as I thought, the showcase should stand out from the rest. When creating the scene, I relied on bright social networks and the brand’s website: their style is always different and bright.
The idea of my showcase is as follows: the portal cabinet of the space laboratory, in which the brand attributes were stored, has opened: now the whole world will be filled with bright colors. In front of the portal there is a mannequin doll dressed in brand clothes and looking at what is happening.
To create a showcase, I used Blender. Special attention is paid to texturing and light, because one of my tasks was to convey a cosmic, weightless, futuristic and unreal environment. Therefore, some lighting sources have purple, blue and green shades. And textures unevenly reflect this light. There are three characters in the scene: an astronaut, a green glass flower and a dummy doll. Some of these characters were found by me in the brand’s social networks, but I rethought how these characters can be used in a scene. The cabinet portal has a rough and uneven texture: this is done in order to convey the mystery and secrecy of the space laboratory.
This scene can be used as an advertising post in social networks, on the brand’s website, or as an advertising video to attract the buyer’s interest.
This project was done as a student project in HSE Art and Design School in 2022, curated by Matvey Pozin.
