Shashlik is a contemporary Turkish restaurant identity crafted to celebrate the richness, geometry, and expressive artistry of Turkish culture. The project reimagines traditional Anatolian patterns, handcrafted motifs, vibrant textures, and the warmth of Turkish hospitality, transforming these cultural elements into a modern visual language that feels authentic and elevated. The objective was to build an identity that communicates heritage while resonating with today’s design standards.
The visual system blends past and present through bold geometric structures, refined typography, and a warm, expressive color palette inspired by ceramics, textiles, markets, and architectural details found across Turkey. Each element of the identity was designed to create a cohesive and immersive experience. From the logo and modular pattern system to packaging, menu design, and environmental graphics, every component contributes to the brand’s artistic narrative.
A core focus of the project was studying how traditional motifs can be respectfully adapted into contemporary forms without losing cultural integrity. This included examining historic tile work, artisan crafts, calligraphic influences, and everyday street aesthetics. These inspirations were distilled into a flexible design language that can scale across different brand applications while maintaining consistency and emotional impact.
Packaging design plays a central role in expressing the brand’s character. Layered motifs, rhythmic patterns, and warm tones inspired by Turkish markets and handcrafted objects turn each package into an artistic moment. The result is packaging that elevates the dining experience and makes the brand instantly recognizable and memorable.
Across all touchpoints, the identity aims to create a multisensory impression that reflects the warmth, hospitality, and expressive nature of Turkish cuisine. Shashlik becomes more than a restaurant brand; it becomes a visual journey that captures the spirit, flavor, and timeless beauty of Turkish art, reimagined for the modern world.
