Croatian agency Šanavala Concept Store has partnered with Lasta, a legendary confectionery brand from Bosnia and Herzegovina, on a major rebrand of its identity and packaging design following the relaunch and significant investment in Lasta production capabilities.
Created to help the brand become the leading accessible premium confectionery brand in the region, this rebranding is one of the biggest marketing projects in the Adriatic region this year.
The total rebranding project included logo redesign, packaging redesign, product development, and complete corporate and brand identity revamp, together with a new communication platform that will communicate companies iconic heritage and focus on the future. One of the flagships of the redesign is certainly a new logo which is a crafty monogram dedicated to the company’s name Lasta (eng: The Barn Swallow), a symbol of spring.
Lasta originally started its production in 1952., and soon it became one of the most iconic strudels and waffle makers in the region, mostly well known for its now legendary fig strudel. It exported its products in the European and US market and employed more than 1000 people, being one of the most important companies in the region. During the war in the 90’s Lasta ceased its production, its facilities were severely damaged in the conflict, and practically despaired as a company. However, Lasta brand remained firmly embedded in people’s minds. Decades after misfortune for the company, new owners decided to buy the company and the brand, and relaunch its iconic products.
With significant investment in production and marketing, Lasta is now aiming for the upper mainstream market in the region and the whole of Europe.
