‘Saint & Scholar’ Wine Packaging Design from Australia

‘Saint & Scholar’ Wine Packaging Design from Australia

Voice – Saint & Scholar

BackgroundSaint & Scholar is a new wine brand based in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills. The brand is the love child of two esteemed winemakers with very distinct personalities—one honest and virtuous (the Saint) and the other erudite and knowledgeable (the Scholar).  The Adelaide Hills has gained a reputation as an innovative and exciting wine region that appeals a younger drinking demographic. For this reason the packaging needed to speak directly to millennial wine consumers.SolutionA simple symbol representing the two personalties of the Saint and Scholar was developed: a halo for the Saint and an open book for the Scholar. This symbol was rendered as a bold and playful illustration and combined with a bright colour palette that extends across the wine range. This fun and contemporary visual aesthetic aims to speak directly to the millennial audience and maximise visual recall.
