Wine label for Saint Martin’s Wine from Winnica Niemczańska. According to tradition, these matured only for a few weeks wines are opened for the first time on 11th November – in some places even precisely at 11:11 am. – on a day, which is a feast day of St Martin.
Legend says, that when St Martin was trying to hide in a pen of geese, from being ordained bishop, geese cackling gave him away. Now traditional Saint Martin’s celebrations is an occasion to try these fresh, fruity wines and roasted goose or duck, for this special event. Wines are young and fresh because they have been fermenting only for a few weeks. Usually, they are not very high in alcohol and are a bit sparkling. The happy celebration has the tradition from the time, when in the end of the farming year farmers have been paid from their workers and it was a moment of joy and happiness. Now this festive moment is celebrated by winegrowers in their cellars in many events around Europe. Wine tasting, roasted corn-fed goose, accompanied by all day dancing music, in the moment when autumn turns into the chilly winter temperatures is an amazing occasion for bringing smile, happiness and warmth from every sip of this special wine.
We combined the symbolism of Saint Martin’s Day with the leading elements of the brand, which we included in a light and witty illustration of a gentleman flying on a magical goose holding a key in the hand that is identifying motif of the “Winnica Niemczańska” brand. As the last touch, we added gold hot stamping.
