Rocim: A New Chapter in Identity by RitaRivotti

Founded in 2017, Herdade do Rocim is located in Cuba, near Vidigueira, in the Baixo Alentejo. A family-run project led by winemakers Catarina Vieira and Pedro Ribeiro, Rocim reflects their deep passion for the estate and the wines they produce. Combining tradition, innovation, and expertise, they have positioned Rocim among the highest standards of quality in Portuguese wine. Of the estate’s 120 hectares, 10 are olive groves and 70 are vineyards, with 22 cultivated organically — a reflection of their environmental concerns and commitment to preserving native varieties and biodiversity.

Today, Rocim is not only rooted in the Alentejo but also extends its presence to other renowned Portuguese regions — Lisbon, Dão, Vinho Verde, and the Azores — broadening its identity while staying true to its values.

Rocim’s character is also shaped by the Vidigueira Fault, a geological formation dividing Alto and Baixo Alentejo. This escarpment creates unique conditions: despite being in southern Alentejo, Vidigueira enjoys one of the region’s most temperate climates, giving rise to fresh, elegant, and mineral wines that define Rocim’s style.

To celebrate its 18th anniversary, Rocim unveiled a renewed brand identity, for which we had the honour of designing the visual concept. A hand-drawn logo, conceived as a personal signature, now unifies all wines, screen-printed in white on each bottle. This cohesive and refined identity reinforces Rocim’s presence across regions and embodies the clarity and ambition of a brand with its eyes on the future.
