For 1987 by Shafia, we reimagined what honey packaging could be, turning a traditional product into an elevated, story-rich experience. Inspired by the purity and legacy of handcrafted honey, our goal was to design a brand identity and packaging system that didn’t just preserve the product’s authenticity but celebrated it with modern elegance.

At the heart of the packaging lies a bespoke honey dipper-inspired cut-out, transformed into a drip-shaped window. This striking visual feature creates anticipation and allows consumers to engage with the golden richness of the product even before unsealing it. This functional storytelling element links the experience of using honey with the very moment it is discovered on the shelf.

The hexagon-shaped bottle serves as a deliberate nod to the natural geometry of honeycombs, reinforcing authenticity and building a strong conceptual connection to nature. It is a form that feels both ancient and futuristic, an emblem of the product’s deep-rooted origins and refined presentation.

The visual identity is built on clean lines, minimal typographic hierarchy, and a warm, organic color palette that reflects the richness and purity of the product without unnecessary embellishment. Tactile finishes, embossed labels, and eco-conscious materials add depth, elegance and environmental consideration to the overall system.

Every design decision was anchored in brand storytelling, user experience, and emotional resonance, from the custom dieline to the unboxing sequence. The result is a packaging design that does not just hold honey, it expresses the soul of a brand that values craftsmanship, nature, and timeless luxury.
