The fashion for herbal tinctures came to Russia several years ago. The once popular beer bars are changing their look to become liquor bars. Distilleries create aperitifs with regional identity that strongly resemble the legendary Jägermeister. There are more and more themed online stores with craft infusions from local craftsmen who felt like russian Johnny Walkers. Consumer preferences are also changing, because the market insists. In Russia, they want to warm up with unique liqueurs, and not with analogues of foreign liqueurs.
Taysee, together with the RedBlack team, have launched a real herbal aperitif on the market. The recipe of the drink goes back to the composition of the ancient potion of the shaman Bogdo, who is the hero of the famous Altai legend about the healing of Prince Olebek. Defending Altai, the great warrior was seriously wounded. For 21 days, the hero was on the verge of life and death, while his subject shaman Bogdo was preparing a healing drink for him. And finally, on the 22nd day, the shaman gave his ruler a potion based on the golden proportion of herbs, roots and the spirit of the maral. Olebek recovered for three days, and on the fourth his wounds were completely healed, the lost strength recovered and the hero again went to command his own army.
The restoration of the formulation of an ancient drug with a huge history lasted more than five years. The drink was named Legends of Altai in the Taysee company. We developed an identity and package design for the aperitif.
The oblique cross is the dominant identification element of the label. It symbolizes the crossroads. According to the legend, this place was the home of the Turkic shaman Bogdo. Maral with grass horns on the label is also depicted for a reason. This is a direct reference to the composition of the drink from 22 herbs and pantogematogen of the Altai maral.
There are three main colors in the brand’s DNA. The classic herbal green is complemented by orange, which represents the energy of the flame. Copper embossing complements the composition. This packaging effect completes the creation of the noble image of the legendary Turkic drink. As a result, the packaging of the herbal aperitif turned out to be not only historically authentic, but also modern.
