Real Chocolate Packaging – Grand Place

The project commenced at a farm in Ben Tre, Southern Vietnam, aiming to conduct in-depth research on the production process of high-quality cocoa. Through this hands-on experience, our project team delved into the germination of cocoa seeds, the tree care processes undertaken by farmers, and the various steps involved in processing cocoa beans to create the final product.

Significantly, the project team acknowledged the crucial role played by farmers. Beyond efficient tree care and productivity optimization, farmers also contribute to maintaining the high quality of cocoa beans. This highlights their importance in the formation of a high-quality cocoa product.

At the farm in Ben Tre, we initiated the project with enthusiasm and a desire to explore extensively the cocoa production process. During our days working alongside farmers, we experienced the entire value chain of the cocoa industry, from the germination of seeds to tree care and, ultimately, the processing of cocoa beans.

The cocoa seed germination process is not merely a technicality but an art. We observed the dedication and skills of farmers in selecting cocoa beans for germination, establishing a solid foundation for the subsequent production process.

The tree care process for cocoa goes beyond basic watering and fertilization; it is a nuanced procedure that requires in-depth knowledge of the plant. Farmers ensure the robust growth of cocoa trees while applying techniques to optimize productivity, allowing cocoa beans to develop with the highest quality.

In understanding the steps involved in cocoa bean processing, including separation, drying, roasting, classification, and processing, each stage emerged as crucial to ensuring the final cocoa beans possess the full range of flavors and quality. This further emphasizes the role of farmers, who contribute not only to tree care but also to maintaining the high quality of the end product.

The project team not only appreciated the professionalism of farmers but also discovered the harmonious blend of technique and passion in cocoa production. We believe that a deep understanding of these aspects will propel our project forward, aiming to produce high-quality cocoa while positively impacting the farming community.

Illustration of packaging
The main illustration of the packaging is a painting of daily scenes of farmers. Daily tasks from taking care of cocoa trees from nursery to flowering, fruiting and harvesting. Although the work is simple, it contains so much enthusiasm of the farmers on the farm.
The picture is drawn in a familiar, rustic, and natural way, helping the new packaging feel more premium and friendly.
