At present, there are plenty of no-label drinking water brands in the market, including both local and imported brands. This makes it challenging to introduce a new no-label package for the brand “Sprinkle” into this highly competitive market.
After working very hard to achieve a unique and differentiated solution, we discovered that instead of merely adopting the no-label concept, as most of our competitors have done to address environmental issues, we needed to go further. We decided to incorporate a compelling story that connects with what is happening to our world. This story would be communicated effectively through the packaging design.
With the concept “REDESIGN TO REDUCE,” we minimized the design to only what is essential, envisioning the melting of Arctic sea ice to vividly illustrate the pressing issue of climate change. This concept is brought to life on the bottle’s surface design through three distinct scenarios:
First bottle – a crystal-clear bottle featuring a large, intact wall of Arctic ice, symbolizing the Earth in a pristine state.
Second bottle – a bottle with the ice slowly melting down, representing the gradual yet alarming impact of climate change.
Third bottle – a bottle where the glacier ice has nearly vanished, leaving only the last fragile ice sheet, highlighting the dire consequences if action is not taken.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the illustration on the Sprinkle bottle is not a conventional reinforced pattern but rather a sculptural design that artistically replicates melting ice. This design choice is intended to raise public awareness about the escalating global environmental crisis in a visually compelling manner. The barcode is placed on the cap’s top surface using washable ink printing.
In summary, this packaging design successfully achieves a clear, colorless, no-label bottle that is reduced to a single piece of plastic, making it easy to recycle. This thoughtful design tells a powerful story, reminding consumers of the urgent need to address global climate change.
