Powering Innovation: Posh’s Journey to Accessible Renewable Energy with Carthagos

Posh is a Y Combinator startup focusing on renewable energy and circular economy. In response to the growing challenges of climate change and outdated electrical grids, Posh has developed plug-and-play domestic battery packs that make renewable energy accessible to any household. It also has a proprietary robotic system for disassembling, recycling, and repurposing retired EV battery cells.

Over a span of three months, an integrated effort from Carthagos’s Branding and Development teams resulted in a suite of services aimed at fully realizing Posh’s vision. This encompassed everything from brand positioning and DNA to developing a visual identity, two websites (B2B and B2C), an e-commerce platform, and a mobile application — simplifying the experience of managing energy storage solutions.

As Posh combines cutting-edge technology with elegant, easy-to-use batteries, the visual system and digital products reflect these qualities with clean, friendly, and hi-tech aesthetics and seamless usability.

A visual concept of connection
Moving beyond the industry’s typical stark aesthetics, the design system for Posh encapsulates the idea of the connection between people and technology. The visual identity merges flat shapes and 3D renders with humanized imagery to depict the synergy between innovation and community.

An outstanding color palette
To create a look & feel that balances warmth and technology, Posh’s visual identity employs a primary color of blue with a secondary hue of orange, set against backgrounds of white and shades of gray, to distinguish the brand in its market.

Versatile graphic element
As versatile a key element, the logo’s shape of the letter “H” can be applied in different angles and croppings, whether alone or combined with images. This creates a dynamic system that works across all formats— such as social media, advertising, stationary, and packaging. The unique approach to design and sustainability taken by Posh and Carthagos marks a significant step forward in the energy sector.
