One Material, Endless Possibilities – The Global Tafnex (三井化学) Rebrand by Daniel Lanzrath

“One Material, Endless Possibilities” – with this guiding principle, the Mitsui Chemicals Group presents its Tafnex™ brand in a completely renewed and future-oriented appearance. The relaunch centers on a refined brand identity that combines a contemporary design language with a sharper, more consistent communication strategy. At its core, the project included the development of a new logo, a comprehensive visual identity, and a global corporate website designed to connect the European and Japanese markets under one unified brand experience.

To ensure long-term consistency and scalability, the brand ecosystem was further expanded with a digital style guide and a modular pattern library, which enable flexible yet coherent design applications across all touchpoints. The result is a clear and recognizable identity that strengthens Tafnex’s positioning in highly competitive markets.

Tafnex™ itself stands for an innovative composite material made of carbon fibers and polypropylene, which combines ultra-lightweight performance with remarkable robustness. It is applied in industries such as mobility, sports, industrial engineering, and interior design – wherever lightweight solutions with maximum strength are required.

My role as Creative Director & Lead Designer encompassed the conceptual and design-driven realization of this brand relaunch. I was responsible for the creation of the new logo, the complete visual design, and the UX/UI of the global corporate website tailored to both Europe and Japan.

The Emit GmbH team complemented this work with the technical implementation of the website and the online shop system, ensuring a seamless digital experience.
