Omdesign Celebrates 27 Years with OMd’vine and a Vision for Sustainable Luxury

Since 1998, Omdesign® has been inspired by nature’s resilience and beauty, thriving through 27 cycles of seasons, growth, and renewal. As we commemorate our 27th anniversary in 2025, with this OMd’vine project, we pay homage to the 27 cycles of nature that have shaped us, allowing and inspiring our creative journey.

This exclusive, sustainable pack celebrates those cycles and honors the dedication, passion, and hard work of everyone who has helped nurture and grow Nature and Omdesign® over these years. It’s a tribute to the environment and the enduring partnership with gratitude we feel for it, a symbol of renewal and sustainability.

At the essence of this project, a deep respect for the vineyard’s lifecycle is settled. Crafted from repurposed vine pruning – materials often discarded or burned – the packaging’s outer sleeve transforms waste into a valuable alternative resource to wood and other materials manufactured from felled trees or finite resources. After serving its main purpose, to safely transporting and conditioning the bottle, when flattened, the sleeve doubles as a tray, demonstrating, through all this, how we view surplus not as waste, but as opportunity. Also, the cardboard that gathers these vines and shapes the square is an ESKA® board FSC® recycled 100% and 100% PEFC. This piece is only decorated with debossing and letterpress, without resource to foil stampings nor plastics, reinforcing the sustainable concept of OMd’vine.

Every piece of this edition tells a story. The sleeve, made from vine leftovers, reminds us of the origins and the beauty in reimagining what is often overlooked. The bottle of Organic Port Wine is a testament to the richness of sustainable winemaking and a direct connection to the land, to the work of human hands and to the prosperity that each cycle brings. The cork stopper with activated charcoal seals the project, combining natural materials to further highlight Omdesign®’s eco-conscious ethos.

More than a celebration, it represents a call to action. We’ve partnered with The Porto Protocol foundation and launched this as a symbol of the key mindset we aim to promote: reuse, recycle, reduce and, above all, rethink.

Through innovative solutions, we aim to minimize our environmental footprint and challenge others to open new paths to sustainability. As we celebrate 27 years of Omdesign®, we hope to invite you to also honor Nature’s endless cycles and commit to protecting and preserving them for generations to come. Together, we can redefine waste as opportunity and create a world where every step contributes to the greater good.

We used every part of this package to convey our eco-message. From the bottom of the bottle, which carries organic roasted almonds, to the cardboard sleeve and vine’s tray, every element was thoughtfully designed to embody our commitment to sustainability. This self-promotion edition reflects our dedication to sharing this vision and inspiring our peers to embrace the concept of enhancing the Luxury of Sustainability. Even the neck tag that shows our 27 years was crafted from the same cardboard, repurposing cutouts to shape the sleeve’s closing system, that works through overlapping pieces.

The OMd’vine project was designed with sustainability at its core, ensuring that every component has an intentional end-of-life opportunity. The packaging promotes reuse and repurposing, extending the lifecycle of materials that would otherwise be discarded. The outer sleeve, crafted from repurposed vine prunings, can be flattened and transformed into a tray, reinforcing the idea that surplus is an opportunity rather than waste. The cardboard structure is made from 100% recycled FSC® and PEFC-certified ESKA® board, ensuring it can be recycled at the end of its use. Free from plastic, foil stamping, or unnecessary coatings, it aligns with Omdesign®’s commitment to environmentally responsible design.

Additionally, the bottle itself is a compact 10cl format from ESTAL’s Bubbles collection, reducing the use of glass while carrying profound symbolism—a small yet powerful representation of sustainable craftsmanship and nature’s renewal cycles. Even the cork stopper, infused with activated charcoal, highlights the use of natural, biodegradable materials. This project demonstrates that thoughtful design choices can minimize waste while celebrating nature’s continuous cycles of renewal.

Every single year, Nature reborn and at Omdesign® we want to go further in each new cycle. This is the moment to embrace “The Luxury of Sustainability”, while sharing the perfect match between organic Port Wine & Roasted Almonds.
