“Obi Organic”. A Modern Look on Mineral Water Packaging Design

Client: LLC «SABIHA» – one of the largest wholesale trade companies, distributors of food products and household chemicals in Tajikistan.
Task: development of packaging design for Obi Organic mineral water.

In the era of the popularity of healthy lifestyle, there is still an implicit struggle between sweet soda and mineral water. Some people believe that popularity of unhealthy beverages is largely due to their bright packaging and stylish design, while manufacturers of mineral water prefer more conservative design. Usually it depicts water, springs, wells, mountains, etc. Therefore, the DDC.GROUP team decided to create a modern brand of mineral water that would draw the attention of the target audience.

The key element of the design is an abstract pattern of water droplets, divided into several segments, as a metaphor for different degrees of purification. The pattern is the leitmotif of the entire packaging design. It can also be seen in the embossing of the bottle.

As part of the project, the DDC.Group design team has developed an ergonomic and easy-to-grip bottle that is pleasant to hold in the hand. Thanks to its textured surface, the bottle does not slip out of the palm even in hot weather.

Currently, the market offers two types of Obi Organic mineral water: still and sparkling. The still water is presented in blue tones, traditionally symbolizing life, purity, and freshness. The sparkling water is presented in purple, which informs the customer about the healthy minerals in the water.
