Guarana Joker enters the ring with a completely new flavor aiming to be the new MVP of energy drinks – that’s where the incredible Nikola Jokić comes in too.

Our team aimed for a design that clearly shows that the new drink does belong to the same Guarana family, but still stands as a new member of the group with a completely new fruity flavor and feel. The next step was incorporating the element of Nikola Jokić (the Joker) with the new Guarana drink, so we decided to connect the two by using the signature colors of Denver’s Nuggets, as well as the Joker’s signature as that one special touch in the iconic design.

Though described in only several sentences above, the entire creative process was far more complex and it included hours of brainstorming, disagreements, and, frankly, some solutions that we’re not too proud of – only to result in a design that made it to the final round and, eventually, got selected by the Guarana team. Essentially, that is our message to all design teams out there – crucial parts of any creative process are, firstly, trial and error. Never pressure yourselves with expectations that a million-dollar idea would pop up on your first try – there are many steps that usually precede it, one of the most important ones being brainstorming with your entire team. Two heads are better than one – imagine what can happen with five, seven, or more joined together! However, in our eyes, it’s not simply about thinking up a larger quantity of ideas on the spot. It’s rather about channeling and exchanging creative energy that leads to that one trigger for a brilliant idea: inspiration.
