Šlif beer was born as one families desire to turn their love for making craft beer from long-lasting hobby to a proper brewery and share their passion with hopheads around the world.
Šlif is an old-school Serbian jargon word, used to describe someone with an exceptionally smooth character – a person that for example knows how to score a table in a fully booked restaurant.
To reflect the essence of it’s name, we wanted to develop something timeless – a design that will stand out effortlessly, just like all any smooth operator does. To give a nod to the local quality of the name and the beer itself, we created a logo in custom cyrillic type face, offset by a slightly re-mastered Ivančić family crest. This way, we wanted to give it a dash of tradition that is slightly neglected in a predominantly hipster oriented design trends. We wrapped it all up in two-tone packaging with a subdued colour pallet to depict a subtle, yet effective manner of a someone with a “lot of Šif”.
