Fibra – Curaka – Cerveza Artesanal
“Curaka is a Peruvian craft beer launched to the market in 2016. The challenge was to create a brand that had Peruvian features but without falling into the stereotype of pre-Columbian textile patterns. That is why we recreated a Curaca, who was historically the governor of the “Ayllu” in the ancient Inca empire. A man with the power to manage agricultural goods, as well as direct rituals and ceremonies. The label had to convey modernity, peruvianism, and be attractive to young people. We changed the name to Curaka, because this is our own interpretation of the Curaca of ancient Peru. With a whimsical label, Curaka has gained a lot of positive attention in the market, something we’re very proud of! Now Curaka is exported to Chile and has just opened a bar in the tourist district of Miraflores, in Lima, Peru. FIBRA was in charge of creating the concept, the name, the logo design and the label. A renowned Peruvian tattoo artist, Zhimpa Moreno illustrated the label, The photos were taken by Andrés Alfaro and the 3D modelling, by Óscar Gómez.”
